Our walks and discovery days are thoughtfully designed to be both rewarding and manageable for a wide range of abilities. That said, to fully experience the incredible sites on this journey, some walking — and a bit of light hiking — will be involved. It’s a great opportunity to set a personal goal and build up your walking stamina ahead of time, if needed. You’ll visit breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Sites, gaze out over mountain vistas, and immerse yourself in the beauty of palm-lined wadis and golden dunes. Along the way, Oman’s legendary hospitality will embrace you — through warm smiles, rich cuisine, and luxurious stays.
Omani culture places a high value on respect and safety for all. To give you an idea: even something like asking for a woman’s phone number or harassing her in any way can lead to up to three years in prison. It’s just one example of how seriously safety is taken here — and why travelers often comment on how secure and welcome they feel.
Your Stay in Oman
4 Nights – Central Muscat (4-Star Hotel)
A comfortable, modern hotel in a quiet central area, based on two sharing. Expect spacious rooms, en-suite bathrooms, pool/fitness facilities, and daily breakfast.
2 Nights – Historic Nizwa
A culturally rich stay near Nizwa Fort and the traditional souq, in an authentic inn or 4-star hotel (two sharing; single rooms subject to availability).
1 Night – Bidiya Desert Luxury Tent
A private luxury tent with en-suite bathroom, comfortable bedding, air-conditioning, and buffet dinner/breakfast. Activities like stargazing, camel rides, and dune experiences are available. Tent categories differ; earlier bookings get first choice.
On-the-Ground Support
You’ll be guided throughout by an English-speaking organizer, with local language support for translations, bookings, and daily assistance.

Ease into your journey with a relaxed cultural tour of Muscat. Wander through majestic mosques, vibrant souqs, coastal promenades, and historic palaces. This is a gentle and enriching start to your retreat, perfect for the day after travel.
Experience Oman’s natural beauty with a boat trip to the stunning Daymaniyat Islands — often called the "Maldives of Oman." Enjoy beach relaxation and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, and underwater photography. The day ends with a deeply restorative spa session with a hammam and half an hour a massage experience included in the cost, in a private segregated setting, balancing adventure with wellness.
The snorkling experience is included in your retreat. In the unlikely case that it doesn’t go ahead due to fewer than 16 participants, a partial refund will be provided. A minimum of 16 participants is required to secure a private boat, ensuring a comfortable environment and avoiding concerns around inappropriate behaviour or dress code.
Venture into the cool heights of the Jabal Akhdar mountains and discover the heritage of Nizwa — one of Oman’s oldest cities. Walk between ancient villages, explore traditional irrigation systems, and step back in time at the famous fort and bustling souq.
Explore the dramatic beauty of Jabal Shams, Oman’s Grand Canyon, and uncover the charm of either Al Hamra and Misfah Al Abriyyin or both depending on time. Take in ancient mud villages rich in tradition. Enjoy a hands-on cultural experience with local hosts, including traditional crafts, food, and village walks.
Swim or enjoy the turquoise pools and hike through canyons at Wadi Bani Khalid before heading deep into the golden dunes of the Bidiya Desert. Spend a magical night under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp, with optional sandboarding, camel rides, fireworks, and stargazing around the bonfire.
Wrap up your journey with a scenic drive along the coast to the town of Sur. Visit hidden beaches, traditional dhow shipyards, and local markets. An optional boat trip offers a chance to spot dolphins or explore coral-lined shores before returning to Muscat for a final night of rest ( the cost of the boat trip will be available on request).
Enjoy a meaningful morning session with a local Sheikh (optional for guests with flights after 4 PM) to close your retreat. This interactive 1–2 hour session explores the spiritual and cultural fabric of Oman through thoughtful conversation and learning, covering topics such as Oman and the birth of Islam, a deep dive into Quranic verses (Rizq, Noor, Fath), and, optionally, a topic tailored to the group’s interests.
After your explorations or earlier in the mornings, take advantage of the pool in your first hotel for moments of rest and reflection— a refreshing way to cool down from the amazing heat.
Please note: hotel pools are typically not segregated. For sisters who wish to swim comfortably, a burqini can be a great option, especially during quieter times of the day.

Important notes
Deposit and Payment Schedule
We have kept our payment plan easy and flexible giving enough time for guests to pay the total amount. A £100 deposit secures your place and is non-refundable and non-transferable. The remaining balance is due by 22nd January 2026 (eight weeks before the retreat).Late Bookings
Bookings made within eight weeks of the retreat require full payment by 8 February 2026 ( 6 weeks before retreat).Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. This provides peace of mind and protection against unforeseen cancellations, delays, or health-related disruptions. Musafir Homes cannot take responsibility for these risks, regardless of whether insurance is purchased or not. Having travel insurance ensures peace of mind and protection in case of unexpected changes to your plans.This gallery offers a visual overview of the planned accommodation, workshops, trips, and activities and the order of events is illustrative only.
